FOR SPECIALTY MONOMERS |
PROPERTY Composition of 99% para methylstyrene isomer makes PMS an ideal comonomer which can provide a dependably controlled reactive site for further modification to the polymer: APPLICATION A specialty rubber copolymerized from isobutylene and PMS is brominated through the methyl group available from PMS. This addition provides improved rubber properties including higher resistance to heat and oxidation which can cause embrittlement and cracking of the polymer.

PROPERTY Low color of 10 APHA and low odor characteristics of VT allow production of resin products that are clear and odorless. APPLICATION Use of VT in adhesive formulations provides a product suitable for the most demanding applications such as the clear adhesive used for disposable baby diapers.
PROPERTY Unlike most other monomer products TBS monomer does not etch clear polymers such as polycarbonate or polymethylmethacrylate. APPLICATION Use of TBS in special adhesive formulations provides a lower cost, low shrink product suitable for bonding sheets of polycarbonate and/or polymethylmethacrylate while maintaining product clarity.
